Unmarried Mother of Three Children – Domestic Violence
Client’s Situation: Mother and Father were never married. They had three children together. Father was physically, emotionally, and psychologically abusive toward Mother. Father also engaged in an aggressive campaign to alienate the two oldest children from Mother and was successful.
Allison’s Approach: Utilize all court resources, including asking for the appointment of a Guardian ad Litem. Advocated on behalf of Mother at over ten hearings and in the appeal.
Result: Prevailed on obtaining no contact between Father and the youngest child until Father completed a psychological evaluation. Father refused to obtain a psychological evaluation on religious grounds and appealed, arguing the statue under which the court ruled was unconstitutional. We prevailed on appeal in a published opinion.
