There are a couple options available if your spouse doesn’t pay the spousal maintenance that’s ordered. Number one, you could bring a contempt motion if your spouse hasn’t paid for at least three months. You can motion the court to ask that they be put in jail, so that they will be compelled to pay you. Their wages can also be garnished. You can fill out a form, submit it to the county, and if they’re a W-2 employee, their wages can be garnished. And third, you can get a judgment against your ex-spouse for any amounts that are owed to you in spousal maintenance.
