If you have a spouse that has threatened to take your children out of state or out of the country, one of the most important things you can do is ask the family court to issue an order preventing the removal of your child from the state or from the country. You can do that on an emergency basis if it’s an eminent threat or you can do it in the context of the divorce as the divorce is preceding if there is a threat that you’re not sure may or may not occur.
